About Al Marhama
Twenty years of serving the Muslim community of Boston — with faith, care, and the trust of families who've walked the hardest roads.

A Sharia-compliant burial service,
rooted in the community
Al Marhama Islamic Burial Services is a Sharia-compliant janaza service in Massachusetts. Our service seeks to simplify and facilitate the burial process for Muslim families who are confronted with the sudden passing of a loved one.
We provide compassionate care for grieving families. Our experienced team is dedicated to honouring your loved one's memory with the utmost care and respect.
We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — because loss does not follow a schedule, and neither do we.
How Al Marhama
came to be
Al Marhama was born out of a simple but urgent need: Muslim families in Boston deserved a burial service that truly understood their faith, their traditions, and their grief. In the early years, families navigating the loss of a loved one often found themselves working with jaznaza homes that lacked the knowledge — or the will — to perform the rites of Islam with proper care.
Our founders saw this gap and decided to close it. Starting from a deep commitment to Islamic values and a genuine love for the community, Al Marhama began offering Sharia-compliant burial services with the care and dignity every Muslim family deserves.
Over two decades, that commitment has only deepened. We have served hundreds of families across Greater Boston — South Asian, Arab, West African, and every corner of the global ummah that calls this city home. Each family has trusted us with their most sacred farewell, and we carry that trust with gratitude and humility.
A small team of community members comes together to provide dignified Islamic burial services to Boston's growing Muslim population.
Word spreads through mosques and community networks. Imams begin referring families. Al Marhama becomes a trusted name across the Boston area.
We add pre-planning services and grief support resources, expanding beyond the immediate janaza to support families through the full journey of loss.
Al Marhama continues to serve the Muslim community of Greater Boston — one family at a time, with the same care and faith that started it all.
Our values
Everything Al Marhama does flows from these principles — the same principles that have guided us since the beginning.
Every service we perform adheres strictly to Sharia. Ghusl, Kafan, Janaza prayer — all conducted with full Islamic knowledge and sincere intention.
We treat every family — and every person in our care — with the warmth and dignity we would want for our own. This is not a transaction. It is a trust.
Death does not wait for business hours. We are available around the clock — every day of the year — because when you need us, we must be there.
We are part of the Muslim community we serve — not a business serving a market. That distinction shapes how we work, how we listen, and how we care.
We explain every step clearly, answer every question honestly, and never leave a family uncertain about what is happening or what comes next.
The person in our care was someone's beloved. We hold that truth in every action — from the moment we receive them to their final resting place.
and to Him we shall return."
This verse is the heart of everything we do. It reminds us — and the families we serve — that what we do is not merely a service. It is an act of care for the soul, and a contribution to the mercy of Allah.
